The Clippingoperation is used to crop one or more region of interest and create a new layer.
It is
accessible through:
Raster
Processing > Clipping...(list
of all
raster layers will be available)
This
wizard consists of the
following steps:
Wizard Page 1 - Selection
of the layer to apply the clipping operation (Layer Search)
On the List
of Layers select the raster layer to clipping.
Optionally use Filter By Name
field
giving part of the layer name to help find the layer in the list.
Press Next
to go to next step or Cancel to close the
dialog.
Wizard Page 2 - Clipping parameters
Type: select the type of clipping to
be used and set the their specific
parameters as explained bellow:
Region of interest (ROI):
Use the tools or to define one or more rectangular or polygonal ROI over the image. Use also () to delete any ROI previously defined.
By default all ROIs are selected, however it is possible to select some of then by clicking over it.
Unique Image: is the default option.
Multi Image: it will generetad one Raster for each ROI, with a suffix number at the the Output layer name.
Layer Extent:Select the layer (use Apply button
to see the overlapping region defined by the original bbox of the
layer). Specify a new bbox (changing the parameters) if desired and use
Apply again to see the overlapping region over the image.

Layer: The user uses geometries from
a vectorial layer to crop the raster.
Layer: Select the vector layer desired and define how to crop, selecting:
Aggregate all geometries: Use all
geometries from layer to crop the raster, generating only one raster.
Group by Attribute: Uses a specific
attribute from layer to group the geometries to crop the raster,
generating one raster for each group (Ex.: group Layer of municipalities by attr state -> will generate one image for each state)
Use selected geometries:
First draw the Vector layer over the image to be cropped at the Map
Display and select one or more geometries, and then use this option
Dimension: Informe theupper left row and upper left column desired (Upper Left corner is 0,0) andalsosets the heightand width to crop the raster. Hint: Use Info tool from the menu bar to check the desired coordinates.
Initial Row
Initial Column
Height (number of rows from the initial row)
Width (number of rows from the initial column)
Press Next
or Back to go to the previous wizard page.
Wizard Page 3 - Output
information
Raster Info
- First press and inform the folder where the resulting
file will be saved.
Name - inform
the raster name.
Extra
Parameters - if there are some, see the details on how to inform
then here.
Press Finish
to save the resulting contrasted raster or Back
to go to the previous wizard page.
Hint: The clipping image(s) will be added as a new layer(s) at the TerraView
project.
