Scatter

A scatter plot is a type of mathematical diagram using Cartesian coordinate to display values for two variables of a data set. The data is displayed as a collection of points, each having the value of one variable determining the position on the horizontal axis and the value of the other variable determining the position on the vertical axis.

It is accessible through:

    Layer  > Scatter...   or

Layer Explorer >  Right Click over a Layer-name > Scatter...
  1. Property X - select the numerical attribute to generate the X axis of the scatter.
  2. Property Y - select the numerical attribute to generate the Y axis of the scatter.
  3. Press OK to generate the scatter or Cancel to close the dialog.
  4. A summary function can be chosen if the scatter is being generated based on a linked dataset, otherwise this option is not visible.
  5. Graphic Style  - used to change color, title, X and Y labels, font style, grid and so on through the chart style interface.
It is also possible to interact with the scatter plotter area highlighting some data, zooming in or out. See the details on how to do that here.

Note: If the scatter is based on a raster file and either of  the selected bands do not inform the dummy value, or inform a wrong one, than any pixel with that value will  be used while generating the points, which can generate a scatter with unexpected frequency values.
