Aspect

Aspect is the horizontal direction which a slope faces, or the mapping of the hillside orientation. The orientation of the land shed along with slope define the exposure geometry of the ground surface, representing the relief scheme. The orientation of sheds (also called exposure or aspect) is defined as the azimuthal angle, corresponding to the higher inclination of the ground downwards. It is expressed in degrees ranging from0o a 360o.

The aspect asc-grid file was generated from the altitude asc-grid file and its values are expressed in degrees.
